NextDent® 300 3D Printing Animation

The Challenge

NextDent® needed an animation that would showcase the real-world capabilities of the NextDent 300 MultiJet printer — a fast, medical-grade dental printer used to produce high-precision dental appliances.

The challenge was to move beyond basic CG: the client wanted a piece that would reflect the true surface quality, material realism, and technical sophistication of the printer. The goal was to support marketing materials, product pages, and tradeshows — helping dentists and dental labs immediately see what makes this printer unique.

The Solution

We created a cinematic 3D animation that brings the full dental workflow to life:

• Procedural modeling using Geometry Nodes to accurately simulate the printer’s monolithic build process — layer by layer
• Custom retopology and UDIM-based PBR texturing for highly realistic surface quality
• Subtle microtextures (wiping marks, fingerprints, handling wear) added to enhance realism in close-up shots
• Careful shader calibration to represent the complex interaction between tooth enamel and gum materials — achieving natural translucency and light behavior
• Cinematic lighting with depth of field and clean backgrounds — designed to resonate with dental professionals and highlight print precision

The Results

The animation became a core asset in NextDent’s marketing toolkit — used across landing pages, tradeshows, and digital campaigns. It allowed the brand to clearly communicate the precision, material realism, and production quality of the NextDent 300 — helping dentists and labs visualize what they can achieve with this technology.
