EXT Titan Pellet 3D Printer: Industrial Animation & Technical Visualization
Cinematic animation for EXT Titan pellet printers, visualizing industrial workflows and extrusion process for marketing and sales.
The Challenge
The EXT Titan series of pellet extrusion printers offers large-format industrial 3D printing with unmatched material flexibility. 3D Systems needed a way to visually communicate how this technology works — especially the unique pellet-fed extrusion process, which is very different from filament or powder-based printers.
Static visuals weren’t enough to show the layer-by-layer building, the scale of the printer, or the way operators interact with it. They needed a cinematic animation that could capture attention at industry tradeshows and support marketing campaigns and landing pages — while remaining technically accurate.
The Solution
We created a high-end 3D animation built around several key innovations:
- A custom Python add-on to convert real GCODE into animated extrusion curves — so every layer, every print line is shown exactly as the printer would build it
- Realistic pellet extrusion simulation, combined with procedural print buildup, to demonstrate the scale and precision of the system
- A photorealistic human operator, created from photoscans, interacting with the printer to ground the machine in real-world use
- Subtle particles and microtextures (like dust and post-printing debris) to add realism and industrial feel
- A cinematic flow with carefully designed camera work, so the viewer can experience the printer as if moving through a real production space

The Results
The animation gave 3D Systems a premium visual asset that could be used at major tradeshows, on product pages, in sales presentations, and across digital marketing channels. It allowed their teams to show customers exactly what makes EXT Titan printers unique — and how they fit into modern manufacturing workflows.
