MJP 300W: Advanced 3D Animation for Jewelry Wax Pattern Printing

The Challenge

The MJP 300W is a high-resolution wax 3D printer designed to produce 100% wax patterns for traditional lost-wax casting — enabling jewelers to create intricate pieces with excellent repeatability and surface quality.

The client needed an animation that could clearly communicate both the technical advantages of the printer (speed, flexibility, multiple resolutions) and the artistic quality of the final jewelry — for use in marketing campaigns, landing pages, and tradeshows.

The key challenge was to create visuals that connected with both engineers and jewelry designers, capturing the precision of the process while respecting the artistry of jewelry production.

The Solution

We produced a cinematic 3D animation that brought the MJP 300W’s capabilities to life:

  • Procedural print simulation with geometry nodes and voxel-based dynamic supports, accurately representing the printer’s multiple resolution modes (XHD, QHD, ZHD, UHD)
  • Particle simulations to illustrate the wax dissolving phase, showing how supports are removed to reveal the final patterns
  • Fluid simulation for the molten metal casting sequence, completing the story from digital print to final jewelry piece
  • UDIM-based PBR shading with manually painted textures and micro imperfections — including wiping marks and wear — to bring a tactile realism to surfaces
  • Careful path-traced lighting and spectral dispersion for gems, ensuring materials interact naturally with light in close-up shots
  • A cinematic flow designed to build visual momentum — starting with a focus on craftsmanship, then transitioning to the printer’s technical depth

The Results

The animation gave the client a versatile asset for landing pages, tradeshow screens, and digital marketing — helping to convey both the technical precision and the artistic quality of the MJP 300W. It allowed jewelry professionals to clearly see how this printer fits into a modern digital-to-cast production pipeline.igital design to finished metal piece.
