Figure 4 135 — Visualizing Fast, Flexible 3D Production for End-Use Parts
The Challenge
3D Systems needed a way to visually communicate the capabilities of the Figure 4 135, a high-speed, projection-based SLA printer designed for direct production of end-use plastic parts. The printer replaces or complements traditional injection molding workflows, drastically reducing lead times, tooling costs, and inventory needs.
The core message was technical: high precision, repeatability, and true production-grade output. But the client also needed the animation to feel cinematic and accessible, to resonate at tradeshows, on product pages, and across marketing materials.
The Solution
We developed a focused 3D animation that tells a clear story about how the Figure 4 135 accelerates manufacturing, both technically and visually.
- We illustrated the projector-based resin curing process, showing how full layers are created at once, unlike traditional laser SLA
- To show precision, we included procedural simulations of multiple small parts building on the same platform, highlighting pixel resolution and uniformity
- Cinematic lighting and microtexture detail helped emphasize material quality, smooth surfaces, and fine geometry
- The animation also touched on fleet management and traceability tools, helping viewers understand how the system scales in production environments

The Results
The animation became a key asset for 3D Systems’ Figure 4 135 product launch, giving their team a clean, fast, and technical visual to explain the printer’s value. It has since been used in trade booths, sales decks, landing pages, and product-focused social content, helping connect a technical product to a broader audience.
